Barnert Temple's Garden
The garden program at Barnert Temple is an inter-generational, experiential, accessible educational space where children, teens and adults learn about the many ways Judaism can inform our daily lives, our understanding of food, and our relationship to our community and the natural world. The garden program allows our educators to bring Judaism outside the classroom and to engage students in new and meaningful ways that can be gateways into other aspects of synagogue life. The garden at Barnert Temple brings together our community by providing a venue for individuals to share their passions and skills. It connects us to our history, leaves a lasting impact on all who experience it, and serves as a model for other Jewish institutions.
