For more than 30 years Paterson Habitat for Humanity has built energy efficienct, affordable homes and sold them to qualified low-income first-time homebuyers. Homes are built with the “sweat equity” of the incoming homeowners and the labor of thousands of volunteers who work alongside professional construction staff. Together with its donors and volunteers, Paterson Habitat for Humanity has built over 300 homes in the City of Paterson. In the process they have transformed lives and revitalized neighborhoods.
Barnert Temple's Relationship with Paterson Habitat for Humanity
Barnert Temple's rich history started in Paterson, NJ - the original home of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun (commonly referred to as Barnert Temple). Our connection to these roots is strong. Even though our congregation is no longer located in Paterson, our commitment to give back to this area continues. Partnering with Paterson Habitat for Humanity is one way we can support the residents of Paterson in a meaningful way.
Paterson Habitat for Humanity creates homeownership opportunities for families with limited income. We are committed to building decent, safe affordable housing that is energy efficient, environmentally responsible and economical to maintain. Join us as we continue to revitalize neighborhoods by building hope with homes.
