Barnert Temple - Our Sacred, Shared Space

Facilities Collage Header

Why Does the Physical Space Matter?

Our buildings and grounds are more than just a physical place with floors, walls, fences, etc.  They create the sacred space where the things that often separate us - geographies, social groups, socio-economic differences, age differences, etc. - disappear.  They become our shared space that is unique from work, home and school.  Our buildings and grounds create the physical space where we all come together as a Jewish community - sharing what we have in common and learning from the things that make us each unique.

Our buildings and grounds allow us to:

Learn together

Worship together

Exchange ideas with one another

Celebrate together

Grieve and honor the departed together

Uphold the connections and traditions of our sacred community, our k'hillah k'doshah.
