Mazal tov to our own Florette on the publication of a very special memorial book that she translated from Yiddish to English. For the past nine years, Florette worked intensely to translate a “Yizkor” (memorial) book that chronicled the daily lives of residents of Ivenets, a Belarus shtetl that was her mother’s birthplace. The book has been incorporated into the Holocaust Council of Metro West’s next annual Holocaust exhibit, “From Memory to History”, which runs from Jan. 27 to March 12 at the Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus in Whippany.
