BARNERT TEMPLE'S MITZVAH MALL 2010

March 14, 2010

11th Annual Mitzvah Mall

To the world you may just be somebody.
But to somebody you may be the world.

Prizes Wanted!
We are looking for donations to make up prize baskets and silent auction items for this year's Mitzvah Mall. We need the big ones – sporting event and show tickets, empty vacation houses or the services that you or your business specialize in. We also need the smaller ones – the extra, unused stuff that we all collect without trying. If you can help, please contact Marian Filan or Patricia Cantor.
Barnert Temple's Social Action Committee and Rabbi Joel Soffin are excited to invite you to Barnert Temple's 11th Annual Mitzvah Mall. This is going to be a wonderful morning for you, your family and your friends. We hope you can join us on Sunday, March 14, to share in the ongoing wonderful mitzvah of tzedakah and to reinforce it’s meaning to our children by supporting the 10 charities we are sponsoring this year (see list below). The Mitzvah Mall is for all ages, from the young to the...well, you get the idea!

When you enter the Social Hall you will be awed by the information about the 10 charities and the impressive work they do to help others. The children — of all ages — gain a wonderful sense of what it means to be a charity and what it means to give.

Ron Lynn, a social action leader in our community, has reviewed over 300 potential charities in order to choose the 10 we felt represented the best this year. Jews are a people deeply rooted in social values, a people commanded to do “Tikkun Olam” — repairing the world — and therefore, we ask everyone to come and join us at this year’s Mitzvah Mall.

You may join us anytime from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm. Please remember to bring your checkbook. In addition to donating to the charities of your choice, — you will be able to take a chance at winning raffle prizes (and there are great ones this year!), and you will be able to buy food at the "BarTy Cafe" to sustain you as you explore this year’s charities.

Be kind, be generous and most important — be there — at Barnert Temple’s 11th Annual Mitzvah Mall.

One day. Ten charities. A world of difference.
